Most of the products developed in the early stage contain NMP (N-methyl-2-Pyrrolidone) or DMAC (Dimethylacetamide) as co-solvents. With the increasingly strict environmental protection requirements and in order to adapt to the EU restrictions on NMP and DMAC, later products are developed without NMP or DMAC, they are more environmentally friendly and harmless to people’s health.
The following are a few of our most common NMP and DMAC free waterborne polyurethane products and corresponding products containing NMP or DMAC:
NMP and DMAC free, 60% solid content, based on polycarbonate and polyether, easy to mechanically foam, and thick coating is not easy to crack. Its coating has excellent heat resistance, and the melting temperature can reach more than 200℃ (without crosslinking). The product has excellent water resistance, alkali resistance, aging resistance and durability. It is suitable for the preparation of textile coatings, which can be applied to the following items: outerwear, bags, suitcases, high-tech articles, and other elastic coatings.
NMP and DMAC free, based on polycarbonate, medium hardness with excellent heat resistance and a melting temperature range of 220-230℃ (without crosslinking). It has excellent water resistance, wear resistance, weather resistance and hydrolysis resistance. It can be used as a topcoat for a variety of applications, especially for scenarios with high weather resistance and high durability requirements.
NMP and DMAC free, 50% solid content, based on polycarbonate, excellent water resistance, wear resistance, UV resistance, and weather resistance. Its coating has a very good fullness and thickness. Suitable for elastic construction coatings, rubber coatings, leather coatings, fabric printing, and other applications.
NMP and DMAC free, medium hardness, based on polycarbonate, excellent adhesion, water resistance, abrasion resistance, light fastness, and hydrolysis resistance. Suitable for leather, rubber, paper, plastic substrates and construction coatings, industrial coatings etc. The corresponding products containing NMP or DMAC are SiwoPUD®-916 and SiwoPUD®-913.
NMP and DMAC free, 45% solid content, based on polycarbonate and polyester, good flexibility, excellent integrated performance. Its coating exhibits excellent adhesion, abrasion resistance, UV and weathering resistance, excellent water resistance and waterproof performance. It is widely used in many industries such as elastic coatings, glove coatings, textile and fabric printing. The corresponding product containing NMP or DMAC is SiwoPUD®-2013 .
NMP and DMAC free, 35% solid content, based on polycarbonate, soft, excellent resilience, excellent alkali resistance and washable fastness, low temperature folding resistance. It can be used in fabric printing and coatings. The corresponding product containing NMP or DMAC is SiwoPUD®-8051H .
NMP and DMAC free, 45% solid content, strong adhesion, high bond strength, and better heat resistance. Suitable for bonding automotive interior, magnetic card and other substrates.
NMP and DMAC free, 35% solid content, based on polycarbonate, high hardness, excellent wear resistance, heat resistance, weather resistance, stain resistance, water resistance, and good solvent resistance, chemical resistance. It can be used for metal, glass, wood coating and industrial coatings, etc. The corresponding product containing NMP or DMAC is SiwoPUD®-1591 .
