SiwoPUD®-U-50

High-Strength Heat Activation, Low-Temp Advantage

Characteristics:

It is an aqueous anionic dispersion polyurethane of a high molecular weight. It is a raw material for formulation of heat-activated adhesives for use in, for example, the furniture, automotive, and construction industries. U-50X provides high solids content, and is particularly suitable for applications involving flexible PVC substrates.

Supplied as:

50% in water

Storage:

The dispersion should be stored in a frost-free place in tightly sealed containers. It contains no preservative

Application:

When bonding strength is non-negotiable and heat activation is part of the process, U-50 is the go-to polyurethane dispersion engineered for results. This aliphatic/polyester-based PUD offers a rare blend of high mechanical strength and low-temperature activation, making it ideal for demanding adhesive applications across timber, PVC, and shoe substrates.

With a robust solid content of 50±1%, U-50 forms strong, uniform films that deliver excellent cohesion and adhesion properties. Despite its powerful grip, U-50 remains smooth and manageable during application, helping to reduce handling complexity without compromising bond integrity.

What truly sets U-50 apart is its ability to activate under lower heat conditions, unlocking efficiency and energy savings in heat-bonding production lines. Whether you’re laminating wood panels, assembling footwear components, or bonding synthetic materials, U-50 ensures reliable performance with minimal thermal stress on your substrates.

This formulation is NMP-free, meeting stricter environmental and safety standards without sacrificing function. And with an elongation rate of 50–60%, U-50 offers just enough flexibility to avoid cracking or delamination under mild strain—while staying rigid enough to hold its shape in structural applications.

So if your process calls for a heat-activated solution that kicks in at low temperatures but holds on with industrial strength, U-50 is your next best bond.
